YouthWell to Offer Free Mental Health Crisis Training | New

YouthWell offers free one-day classes in Santa Barbara County, with the goal of helping residents prepare in case someone they know experiences a mental health or addiction crisis.

Places are available for classes on August 10 or 19, which will take place between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. The course is intended for parents, teachers and professionals in Santa Barbara County who work with children between the ages of 12 and 18.

Classes will focus on a five-step action plan and teach participants how to offer support to those around them who may be struggling with a mental health crisis. Upon completion of the course, participants will receive a three-year certification from the National Council for Behavioral Health.
